a.     Accra City

Accra is the capital city of Ghana located in the Great-Accra Region. Accra is a lucrative city with over 3 million people residing there. The city has well images of current buildings, apartments, towns, castle, fort and business centers. The main market is called the Makola Market which could be found south of the Atlantic Ocean.

Lucrative Places in Accra;

i. The Arts Centre; This is the place where you could shop for real African products breaking barrier and see decorated domestics objects that is man-made.

ii. National Museum: The museum is where you could get information about the rich culture and history of Ghana. You could get insight about the former era of Gold Coast, slave trade and Ewe Empire and Ashanti Kingdom.

iii. The Christianborg Castle: This is the stylish castle among the various castles and forts located in Ghana. For centuries ago, this place was also called the House for Governments during their times of office. Leaders lived in the castle in the 19^th century and still used for important things today.

iv. James Fort: The fort served as a memorable monument of the past oppressors, white people traced from Europe and system for slavery.   The suburb called James town is where the fort could be found.

vi. Beaches: There are exciting beaches here in Accra and at the environs of the Accra city. Weekend fun, special holidays and special occasions are celebrated at the beach inside Accra or outside towns. The finest place where people usually visit to jubilate and release stress are Labadi beach, Bojo beach and Koko-Bite beach.

vii.  The Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum;

This place is also called the Kwame Nkrumah memorial park and situated at Accra. You know Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was a great man who became the first president of Ghana. He made the state a republic state and he attained independence with his masterminds from the colonial rule leaders on 6^th March 1957.  The space of the memorial park is at most 6 acres. The statue of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah is  well mounted in the memorial park and other African statues showing the African rhythm, harmony and dreams are found in this park. The photos of the late president are published in the museum house.

There are pictures and books showing his young moments, his education days and political trips and times which are used as his biography.  There are variety of his drafted books which are showcased in the museum house.

There are some photos of Osagyefo Nkrumah are displaced on the walls to remember his great effort for his motherland. In the 20^th Century, Dr. Nkrumah traveled for business memorandums and better bilateral relation forums where he took photos with the most visionary and influential leaders from the international countries and diplomats worldwide.

Truly, you could lean more form the photos and brief explanations written below the photos. Some of the photos showed Osagyefo Nkrumah shaking hands with the then world’s leaders in the 20^th century.

You will receive manuscripts of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and there also books educating people and tourists about his autobiography and his request for self-government now.

When you visit the museum, you will see photos he took with diplomats like John F. Kennedy of U.S.A, Mao Zedong, Pope Pius XII, Sir Alec Hume, Fidel Castro, Harold Macmillan, Queen Elizabeth II of England, President Naser of Egypt and Jawarharlal Nehru. The leaders are many and also he had pictures with the then leaders from Sri Lanka, China, Malaysia, Niger, Nigeria and a number of African leaders.

In the center of the memorial park, the mortal remains of the late president is buried under a unique catafalque which is situated behind his golden statue (Osagyefo Nkrumah) where he had his right  hand pointing straight into the future  to show what he expected Africa to be in future.

The flag of the party he formed Convention People Party (CPP) is nicely wrapped on the his mortal remains.

There are African designs and symbols which highlights the history and culture of Ghana and some portrays the vision Osagyefo  Nkrumah had to promote the new Africa and governance.

Also, at the walk way, there are water flowing from the spring which consists of seven squatting statues blowing flute to showcase how they used flute rhythms in the past to welcome the president, global leaders, visionary and famous dignitaries who arrive in Ghana for forums, bilateral and business relations.

The design of the memorial park symbolizes peace, where swords are placed down. There also symbols showing his unfinished tasks and purpose of life to unite Africa and promote the new Africa to show the whole world that Africans are really capable of managing their own affairs.

Some Beaches At The Environs Of Accra

There are exciting beaches with bar and restaurant outside the Accra metropolis that I recommend for you to visit on weekends, occasions and special holidays.

i. Bojo Beach

The beach where you could relax and experience the taste of the two waters, either you swim in the sea or the river.  This beach is unique and has a system where a boat is used to cross-over the river to enter the land to where you can feel the sea. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the compound of the beach starts from where you board the boat to the land where you can swim the sea. You could find the bar, conference center and restaurant at the beach. You could find live band musicians, drummers and horse riders around.

ii. KokroBite beach

There are very exciting beaches that you could find around Accra. You know, the highly visited ones over decades ago are the KokoBite beach. The distance of the beach driving from Accra is 20miles (30km) with commercial vehicle such as taxi or tro-tro vehicle to the beach site.

Provisions for accommodation are accessible at the Music Academy or go to Big Mily’s Lodge in the nearby village situated on the shore of the beach. There is a restaurant and bar at Big Mily’s where you could meet volunteers, different people and Ghanaians.

The attractive thing about this beach is the better African Music and Art Academy formed by the chief drummer Mustapha Tettey Addy. The music academy is well famous and very interesting to dancers and drummers from international countries to visit Ghana.

Greater-Accra Region

This people living in this region are called the Ga people. They speak the Ga language. The city of Accra is the capital city of Ghana. There is a port and an international airport in Accra city. Ashanti Region

This people who live in this region are the Ashanti people. Their language of communication is Twi. The regional city is the Kumasi city of Ghana. The region is endowed with pure gold deposits underground or on the sub-soil (surface) of the land. They have an internal airport in Kumasi metropolis. There are tour sites in this region.
Western RegionThis people living in this region are the Ahanta people. They speak the Ahanta-Fante language. The regional city is Takoradi (oil city), which is also called the twin city, Secondi Takoradi. The metropolis has an internal airport system and an international harbour. The sea is blessed with highly marketable oil. The city is located at the coastal area.

Eastern Region

This people from this region are the Akwapim and Krobo poeple. They speak the Akwapim Asante language. Their regional city is the Koforidua city. The region is endowed with quality diamond and gold which highly demanded in world commodity markets. It has an local airport in Koforidua metropolis. There are attractive tour sites in this region.

Upper West Region

This people in this region are called the Dagati people. They speak the Dagati language. The regional city is Wa city. The occupation for people in this are are farming and rearing livestock for proceeds.
